Anxiety in Troubled Teens

By

There are many stressors in the lives of troubled teens that give them anxiety; the pressures of school may be too much, they find themselves to be socially inhibited, they have overwhelming and irrational fears or any other idiosyncrasies that cause them harm in their daily life.  Symptoms of anxiety arise in several different aspects including physical which entails an increased heart rate or a numbness in the hands and feet, cognitive, having to do with the thoughts, which could be expressed through Obsessive Compulsive Disorder or Generalized Anxiety Disorder with constant worrying, and there are behavioral reactions that can lead to things like eating disorders.  There is a broad scope as to how anxiety effects the lives of troubled teens, but luckily there are therapeutic advantages out there that can help heal the situation.

C.A.R.E. Schools are the leader of restoring troubled teens with multiple branches such as residential treatment centers, group homes, boarding schools, military schools, wilderness/adventure therapy and summer camps.  The focus and goal of every program is to address any and all issues troubled teens are facing, anxiety included.  Students are taught that adversity is surmountable, and they attain the life skills necessary to lead successful lives in the future, once they return to their original atmosphere.  When taken out of state and and out their comfort zone, the risk for running away is greatly reduced, they are surrounded by caregivers and nurturers, licensed clinicians and caring staff members, and they are encouraged to become better versions of themselves.
