Troubled teens are "at risk children" whose life has gotten out of control; they may be using drugs and alcohol, acting out in defiance, running away, and have dropped out of school. A lot of parents look at their child's outrageous behavior as a "phase" that they will grow out of... and its true, some teens do go through a short rebellious stage.
